Argentine midfielder set for Botafogo move

Xinhua, January 2, 2016 Adjust font size:

Promoted Brazilian Serie A outfit Botafogo are set to announce the signing of Argentine midfielder Gervasio Nunez, according to media reports.

The 27-year-old told O Globo newspaper that he has agreed to financial terms and will undergo a medical in the coming days.

"I'm going to Brazil on Monday to continue my career at Botafogo," he said.

Nunez last year helped Club Atletico Sarmiento return to Argentina's top division for the first time in 34 years.

His career has also included spells at Chile's Rangers de Talca, Poland's Wisla Krakow and Argentine clubs Rosario Central and Quilmes.

Botafogo earned promotion to Brazil's top flight by winning the 2015 Serie B title. Endit
