Xinhua, December 31, 2015 Adjust font size:

Israeli soldiers shot dead on Thursday a Palestinian man after he ran over his car on Israeli soldiers at an Israeli army road barrier south of the West Bank city of Nablus, medical sources said.

The sources said that the identity of the Palestinian young man is still unknown.

Meanwhile, Israel Radio confirmed that a Palestinian driver was killed by Israeli soldiers gunfire at the barrier, adding that one Israeli soldier was injured in the attack.

However, Palestinian eyewitnesses said the Palestinian young man was shot dead by Israeli troops' gunfire as he drove his car dozens of meters far from the Israeli army checkpoint.

Since early October, more than 140 Palestinians were killed and thousands injured in an unprecedented wave of violent tension that broke out between Israel and the Palestinians in the West Bank, east Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, 23 Israelis were killed and dozens injured in a series of shooting, stabbing and car ramming attacks carried out by Palestinians in Israel, the West Bank and east Jerusalem. Endit
