UN Secretary-General on Tuesday extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of the devastating landslide in Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong Province, and expressed his solidarity with the people and government of China, said a statement of Ban's spokesman.

The Secretary-General fervently hopes more survivors will be found during the ongoing rescue efforts, said the statement.

Seventy-six people are still missing after a landslide buried 33 buildings in an industrial park in Shenzhen Sunday. More than 4,000 rescuers had joined the rescue efforts as of Tuesday morning, said local authorities at a press conference. Endit
