1st Ld: China vows more efforts on city clusters, major cities

Xinhua, December 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

China will take more efforts to upgrade city clusters in the eastern region, and foster new city clusters and key regional cities in central and western regions, says a statement issued Tuesday after the Central Urban Work Conference.

More key cities in central and western China will be cultivated, the statement said, adding cities in the border regions should be developed in a coordinated way with port cities, so that all residents share the fruits of urbanization.

All cities should utilize their advantages in resources and location, and foster industries with local characteristics, the statement said. Endi
