Singapore stocks close 0.26 percent higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 7.42 points, or 0.26 percent, to close at 2,852.97.

A total of 1.2 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 664.3 million Singapore dollars (473.4 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 223 to 159, while 544 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 7.29 points, or 0.26 percent, to close at 2,845.55 on Monday. Endit
