Police investigator has launched a criminal prosecution over the suspicion of negligent homicide, as three children lost their lives in a fire close to the village of Sacurov in eastern Slovakia, local news agency TASR reported on Friday.
The fire broke out on Thursday at a local Roma settlement, when one of the dwellings went up in flames shortly after 5:30 p.m. local time.
"Once the fire was put out, charred bodies of three children were found at the place of abode: 4-year-old Martin, 3-year-old Dominik and 2-year-old Peter. According to a coroner, the immediate cause of death couldn't be determined at the scene and thus a forensic autopsy was ordered," said Regional Police Corps spokesperson Jana Migalova.
One adult relative of the late children suffered multiple burns in the fire and had to be hospitalised. The cause of fire is not known at the moment. Endit
