China sets to stress test securities, futures institutions

Xinhua, December 18, 2015 Adjust font size:

China's securities supervisor said on Friday that it plans to stress test its securities and futures institutions to assess how they perform under extreme conditions.

During the tests, conditions of a wide swing in the capital market or widespread defaults in the bond market will be among the scenarios considered, Zhang Xiaojun, spokesman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) said at a regular news conference.

Zhang said the tests will provide information with which CSRC can adjust policy and lessen risks.

He said CSRC will conduct the tests together with the industry associations of securities, asset management and futures as well as China Futures Market Monitoring Center and China Securities Finance Corp. Endi
