Xinhua, December 17, 2015 Adjust font size:

PSI Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew and SEA Games topped Singapore's search trending this year, said Google in its Year in Search 2015 on Wednesday.

"PSI (Pollutant Standard Index) Singapore" emerged as Singapore's top trending search item, showing Singaporeans were concerning about the prolonged hazy condition crouching over the city state. Frequently searched question is "What is the PSI now?"

"Lee Kuan Yew" also ranked a high position among the search trending list, as Singaporeans found it hard to say goodbye to the city state's founding prime minister who passed away in March.

"SEA Games (Southeast Asian Games)" followed the search trending ranking. Singaporean team has achieved unprecedented good results in SEA Games, which was held in the city state again after 22 years.

As for International News trending, MERS outbreak in South Korea, AirAsia QZ8501 crash, earthquake in Malaysia's Sabah, terrorist attacks in Paris caught Singapore's attention during the year, according to Google's Year in Search 2015.

Local topics such GE 2015, SG 50 as well as Budget 2015 also gripped Singaporeans as the country celebrates its golden jubilee this year. Endit
