Update: Saudi media authority denies plans to build cinema theater

Saudi General Authority for Audio and Visual Media denied on Sunday the news reports of plans to construct a cinema theater in Riyadh, Al Arabiya local news reported.

Earlier on Sunday, the Saudi Cinema Committee announced through various local press the construction of the first ever cinema theater in the conservative Islamic kingdom.

The Saudi authority said the circulated news is baseless and confirmed that the sources mentioned in the reports don't represent any official organization.

Saudi Arabia has no cinema halls for religious reason. Endit
