British carmaker Jaguar Land Rover, which is set to build a plant in Nitra in western Slovakia, shouldn't be afraid of a lack of skilled workforce, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced on Sunday.
"Everything has been calculated thoroughly. All analyses that have been drawn up, as well as the potential of cooperation with secondary schools and universities confirm that this investor will have enough labor force," stressed Fico.
At the same time, Jaguar Land Rover could launch an interesting salary battle with PSA Peugeot Citroen in Trnava -- only some 40 km west of Nitra.
"We expect that Jaguar Land Rover will set the salaries far above the national average," added Fico.
The contract between Jaguar Land Rover and the Slovak Government on an investment worth 1.4 billion euros (1.53 billion U.S. dollars) was signed on Friday. It's expected that the plant could create as many as 3,000 jobs. Endit
