Luis Fabiano linked to Chinese club

Xinhua, December 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

Former Brazil international striker Luis Fabiano could join Chinese second-tier outfit Tianjin Songjiang next year, according to media reports.

The 35-year-old is a free agent after parting ways with Brazilian club Sao Paulo earlier this month.

A move to Tianjin Songjiang would see him join former Real Madrid and Brazil manager Vanderlei Luxemburgo, who will take charge of the team in January on a one-year contract.

Fabiano has also been linked to Brazil's Gremio but the former Sevilla player is believed to prefer the China move for fear of upsetting Sao Paulo fans.

The forward dropped a hint that he is close to signing with Tianjin Songjiang on Wednesday by posting an image on Facebook showing Chinese characters with a caption in Portuguese that said: "The start of a new chapter".

Fabiano has been capped 45 times for Brazil, scoring 28 goals. Endit
