Rogerio Ceni to learn from Pep Guardiola

Xinhua, December 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

Record-breaking Brazilian goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni will be a special guest of Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola during the German team's pre-season training next summer, according to media reports.

The Uol news portal said Guardiola had accepted a request by Rogerio to spend several days with the Bundesliga outfit as he prepares for a career in coaching.

A freekick and spot-kick specialist, Rogerio ended his decorated 24-year playing career earlier this month.

The 42-year-old is recognized by the Guinness Book of records as the highest-scoring goalkeeper in history.

He netted 131 goals in 1237 first-team matches for Sao Paulo.

Rogerio was a part of Sao Paulo's Copa Libertadores-winning teams in 1993 and 2005, and was Brazil's backup goalkeeper at the 2002 and 2006 World Cups. Endit
