Pakistan and India agree to resume "Comprehensive Dialogue"

Pakistan and India on Wednesday agreed to resume "Comprehensive Dialogue" to cover all key issues, the Indian External Affairs Minister, Sushman Sawaraj said in Islamabad.
The Composite Dialogue was suspended after the deadliest attacks in the Indian commercial hub of Mumbai in 2008.
"Pakistan and India have agreed to resume dialogue under new title: Comprehensive Bilateral Dialogue," the Indian Foreign Minister said after her meeting with Pakistani foreign affairs adviser Sartaj Aziz.
Swaraj was in Islamabad to lead the Indian delegation in the day-long conference of the Heart of Asia - Istanbul Process that also called for peaceful solution to the conflicts.
The Indian Foreign Minister said that top diplomats of the two countries will finalize the procedure for the talks.
"We have asked foreign secretaries to determine at what level India-Pakistan dialogue will resume," she said while speaking along the Pakistani adviser.
A joint statement issued after Swaraj-Aziz meeting said, "both sides agreed to a Comprehensive Bilateral Dialogue and directed the Foreign Secretaries to work out the modalities and schedule of the meetings."
The issues to be discussed include Peace and Security, Confidence Building Measures, Jammu & Kashmir, Economic and Commercial Cooperation, Counterterrorism, Narcotics Control and Humanitarian Issues, People-to-People exchanges and Religious Tourism.
The Indian Foreign Minister and the Paksitani Adviser condemned terrorism and resolved to cooperate to eliminate it.
"They noted the successful talks on terrorism and security-related issues in Bangkok by the two National Security Advisers and decided that the NSAs will continue to address all issues connected to terrorism."
The Indian side was assured of the steps being taken to expedite the early conclusion of the Mumbai trial.Endite
