Six Ugandans to run for Rwanda's 2015 Rally de Milles Collines

Six Ugandan drivers traveled on Wednesday to take part in the 2015 Rally de Milles Collines in neighboring Rwanda.

Musa Kabega and his navigator Roger Sirwomu, who will be flagged off second, told Xinhua that they are eager to impress in the last event of the 2015 season.

"We want to test ourselves against drivers from other countries," said Kabega.

The event, which will run Dec. 11-12 in Nyamata, Bugesera district has attracted over 20 drivers from Rwanda, Uganda and Burundi.

"We want to test our car Mitsubishi Evolution IX on how it responding in this last rally of the season. We are going to be very competitive and determined to win," said another driver Wilbert Pole Pole.

According to the event's Clerk of the course, Eric Maxime Nzamwita, drivers will have three sections on Friday from Golden Tulip Hotel in Nyamata to Rilima. It will cover a total distance of 168.22km, including the transport section that will be 92.62km.

This event is the last on Rwanda's national rally championship calendar. Last year's race was cancelled after a navigator, Christophe Dusquene died upon a bad accident.

Dusquene was navigating for Rwandan driver Claude Kwizera when they crashed their car in section 2 in Gakenke, Eastern Province. Endit
