Some 302,000 refugees enter Slovenia Since mid-October

Xinhua, December 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

By Tuesday morning the total refugees entering Slovenia to transit to Austria since mid-October reached 301,840, the latest statistics given by the state police showed.

More than 4,400 refugees left Slovenia for Austria on Monday, the Slovenian official news agency STA reported according to state police news release.

The STA report said that more than 3,250 new arrivals were placed in refugee centers across the country Tuesday morning, of which 25 were at the center for foreigners, where those seeking asylum are placed.

Meanwhile, Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar said on Tuesday that all border fences in Europe are a result of the EU's failure to respond with an adequate and joint approach to migrations.

He made the remarks after Austria had started to build a fence on the border with Slovenia, a move he said had been announced and thus expected, according to the STA. Enditem
