Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski declared on Tuesday that starting from January 2016 all students of the state will be able to use for free the public transport in all the Macedonian cities.

Gruevski also informed on the "High School Wednesday" project intended for every high school student to use for free railway transport, as well as free tickets for theaters, museums and cinemas in the country on Wednesdays, local Macedonian media reported.

"Starting from Jan. 1, 2016 ... all students of the state universities will be provided with free transport in urban public transport," Gruevski said in his address at the solemn Academy on the occasion of Tuesday's state church holiday of Saint Clement.

With this measure, said Gruevski, all the students from state universities will be provided with cards from Skopje and other public enterprises in the cities where there are public buses.

Government, Gruevski added, in order to implement this measure, will pay funds to respective local government units.

Gruevski announced these measures as part of a broader range of 100 measures and projects intended for youth and education. Enditem
