Czech, Slovak ground military units to hold joint training exercise: official

Xinhua, December 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

After a meeting with his Czech counterpart Josef Becvar here on Monday, Slovak Chief of Defense Staff Milan Maxim said Czech and Slovak ground military units would hold a joint training exercise to facilitate their border cooperation.

Maxim, who is here on a multi-day visit, said Czech-Slovak cooperation on air defense had been developing successfully, and the two armies want to complement it with joint ground operations. He said that in view of the current migrant crisis, training for emergency situations along the border was also important.

Becvar pointed out Czech and Slovak armies were neighbors, shared similar languages, and their respective armies held a joint training once a month at least. He added they would resume cooperation of the engineering units along the border. Endit
