Iceland sees services trade surplus increase in Q3

Iceland saw its balance of services trade increase to a surplus of 90.4 billion Icelandic krona (679.7 million U.S. dollars) in the third quarter of 2015, Statistics Iceland said Tuesday.

This marks an increase of 16.2 percent compared with 77.8 billion Icelandic krona in the same period of the previous year.

According to preliminary figures, Iceland's export of services in the third quarter was about 189.95 billion Icelandic krona while the import of services was 99.55 billion.

With a trade surplus of 55.52 billion, tourism was the top earner of trade surplus in the country's service sector, according to Statistics Iceland. (1 U.S. dollar= 133 Icelandic krona) Endit
