UAE committed to fighting extremism, terrorism: official

Xinhua, November 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will continue the fight against terrorism which goes hand in hand with extremism, a senior diplomat said here on Monday.

The war on terrorism begins with a fight on both its funding, and extremist educational and fundamentalist curricula which encourage its growth, state news agency WAM quoted UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash as saying.

Fighting extremism and terrorism requires global collective efforts, Gargash said, addressing foreign journalists ahead of the Gulf country's National Day, which falls on Dec. 2.

"Terrorism targets Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Belgium, France, Kenya, and Tunisia, and all countries are facing a global challenge, so dealing with it must be from this standpoint, and each region should study its circumstances," Gargash said. Endit
