3D printing center to open in Chongqing

Xinhua, November 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chongqing Municipality in southwest China will set up an innovation center for 3D printing technology, local authorities said.

Relying on the manufacturing prowess of cutting-edge 3D printing technologies, the center will help develop technologies and products for industries ranging from aviation to automobile to health care, according to the city's commission of economy and information technology.

It has signed investment deals with 15 companies and institutions on robotics and smart equipment, the commission said.

The National Engineering Research Center of Rapid Manufacturing will operate the center, scheduled to begin trial operation in January, 2016. Endi
