Xinhua, November 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

About 13 terrorists have been captured in Afghanistan's eastern province of Nangarhar, Afghan authorities said on Monday.

"The personnel of National Directorate of Security (NDS) during separate operations detained 13 terrorists in Bati Kot, Nazyan, Chaparhar and Ghani Khel districts of Nangarhar province recently," NDS, the country's intelligence agency, said in a statement issued here.

The detainees belonged to terrorist groups of Taliban and the Islamic State (IS), the statement added.

One vehicle and several rounds of ammunition were also seized during the above raids, according to the statement.

The mountainous Nangarhar province with Jalalabad city as its capital, 120 km east of Afghan capital, has been the scene of heavy clashes between militants affiliated to the IS and Taliban, and security forces over the past couple of months. Enditem
