China hopes for positive outcomes from DPRK-ROK contact

Xinhua, November 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

China hopes positive results will come out of the working-level contact between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the Republic of Korea (ROK), said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei on Tuesday.

The DPRK and the ROK agreed last Friday to hold working-level contact on Nov. 26 at Tongil House, an administrative building on the north side of the truce village of Panmunjom, where they will discuss the timing, venue and agenda for inter-governmental talks.

As a friendly neighbor, China has always supported dialog and contact between the DPRK and the ROK on pushing forward reconciliation and cooperation, improving relations, and jointly making positive contributions to peace and stability in the Korean peninsula, said Hong.

Top-level military advisors to ROK President Park Geun-hye and DPRK Leader Kim Jong-un agreed on Aug. 25 to hold an inter-governmental dialogue in Seoul or Pyongyang. Endi
