Singapore stocks close 0.69 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 20.00 points, or 0.69 percent, to close at 2,923.49.

A total of 1.29 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 825.2 million Singapore dollars (577.6 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 207 to 169, while 559 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 14.42 points, or 0.49 percent, to close at 2,903.49 on Monday. Endit
