Palestinian attack wounds 4 Israeli soldiers in West Bank

Xinhua, November 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

A Palestinian rammed his vehicle at an Israeli military patrol in central West Bank on Tuesday, wounding four soldiers, including a high-ranking officer, officials said.

The assailant, a resident of Jenin, drove his car at a patrol of soldiers as they were stepping out of their vehicle near the Tapuah junction, south of Nablus, a military spokesperson said.

"The attacker was shot and is receiving medical care," the spokesperson said.

One paramilitary border police and two soldiers, including a lieutenant colonel, were lightly injured, a spokesman said.

It's the latest run-over attack in two months of deadly violence in the Palestinian territories and Israel, which has claimed the lives of at least 90 Palestinians and 19 Israelis.

In a bid to quell the tension, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Israel on Monday night and expected to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday morning. Endit
