Spaniard held at Luanda airport with cocaine

A Spanish national has been arrested by Angolan police at Luanda's international airport in possession of 6,396 kg of cocaine hidden in a child schoolbag,the official news agency Angop reported on Tuesday.

Spokesperson for the National Police Aristofanes dos Santo said the Spaniard arriving from Brazil's Sao Paulo city was on transit to Sao Tome and Principe when he was arrested on Sunday.

The dealer was detained while trying to board a TAAG flight to Sao Tome and Principe.

The spokesman said drug trafficking through the Luanda international airport was currently restricted due to the engagement of the national police and this year alone, six drug traffickers were held at the airport, all from Brazil. Endit
