British FTSE 100 increases 0.16 pct on Wednesday

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, increased by 0.16 percent, or 10.21 points, to 6,278.97 points on Wednesday.

The share price of Antofagasta shot up by 5.84 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Glencore, Hikma Pharmaceuticals, Anglo American and Pearson increased by 5.04 percent, 4.76 percent, 4.28 percent and 2.92 percent respectively.

International Consolidated Airlines Group SA led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 3.21 percent, followed by Smiths Group (2.99 percent), Rolls-Royce Holdings (2.25 percent), Carnival (1.39 percent) and Dixons Carphone (1.35 percent). Endit
