Total transit refugees via Slovenia reach 230,000

Xinhua, November 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

The total number of transit refugees who came across Slovenia in the past month since Hungary sealed off its border has reached 230,000 when around 7,700 refugees came into this country on Tuesday.

Over 8,300 refugees are in Slovenia, among which 2,300 are at registration centers around the country, another 6,000 in accommodation centers including 4,200 in the tent city of Sentilj near the Austrian border, according to the state police statistics on Wednesday.

The police figures also show that the number of daily arrivals has held mostly steady at around 7,000 per day since Nov. 10, local media Slovenia Press Agency said in its report.

This is on par with the daily average since Oct. 16, when Hungary sealed off its border with Croatia to redirect the flow through Slovenia. Enditem
