2 policemen shot dead in Saudi city of Qatif

Xinhua, November 18, 2015 Adjust font size:

Two Saudi policemen were shot dead Wednesday in the eastern province of Qatif, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The Interior Ministry Spokesperson said the incident took place at 1 a.m. (23:00 GMT), as gunmen attacked the police jeep deployed to a farm in Saihat.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the

attack.

In October, Saihat was the target of another shooting attack, when an armed individual opened fire at a Shiite community center, killing five people.

Forty-nine suspects were subsequently arrested, thought to be affiliated with the attack which was claimed by the Islamic State (IS) militant group. Endit
