Singapore stocks close 1.05 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 30.70 points, or 1.05 percent, to close at 2,886.08.

A total of 973.8 million shares changed hands with turnover of 977.9 million Singapore dollars (688.7 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 271 to 115, while 549 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 1.05 points, or 0.04 percent, to close at 2,916.78 on Tuesday. Enditem
