The South African government on Saturday joined the international community in strongly condemning the terrorist attacks in Paris.
"South Africa stands firmly with the rest of the international community in its condemnation of attacks targeting innocent civilians and reiterates its stance that terrorism, in whatever form and from whichever quarter, cannot be condoned," said Clayson Monyela, spokesperson of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation.
On behalf of the SA government and people of South Africa, President Jacob Zuma has conveyed a message of deepest condolences to his French counterpart Francois Hollande, the government and people of France, particularly the families of the victims, Monyela said.
The South African Embassy in Paris is closely monitoring the developments and will report to Pretoria as soon as information is available on the well-being of South African citizens, said Monyela.
The attacks took place on Friday night, killing more than 120 innocent civilians. Enditem
