The International Skating Union announced in a statement on Saturday to cancel the rest of the figure skating Grand Prix event in France after the deadly attacks left at least 128 people killed on Friday in Paris.
"The Minister of Interior Affairs of France, Bernard Cazeneuve, and the Mayor of Bordeaux, Alain Juppe, have informed the French Figure Skating Federation (FFSG) that the competition at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating event 'Trophee Eric Bompard 2015' in Bordeaux has to be cancelled due to the state of emergency and national mourning days in France," read the statement signed by ISU Sport Manager Figure Skating Peter Krick and FFSG President Didier Gailhaguet Saturday afternoon.
"The International Skating Union (ISU) has acknowledged the decision," it added. "The International Skating Union and the French Figure Skating Federation express their deepest sympathy to the victims of the despicable terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13."
Three Chinese skaters are competing in Bordeaux, southwestern France, which is located more than five hours drive away from Paris. Peng Cheng and Zhang Hao sit in fourth place after the pairs short program on Friday, while Wang Yi was in eighth place among 11 men's singles competitors.
All four of the free skate/free dance for four disciplines, the men's and women's singles, pairs and ice dance, had been scheduled to take place on Saturday evening. Endi
