The Kenyan government on Saturday joined global condemnation of a wave of attacks in Paris Friday night that left at least 128 people dead.

President Uhuru Kenyatta said he sent the families, friends and compatriots of those murdered in France the country's heartfelt condolences.

Kenyatta said Kenya, which has experienced mass-casualty attacks stands ready to offer every assistance possible in this regard.

"Kenya stands ready to offer every assistance possible in this regard, and indeed we will continue to relentlessly prosecute our war against terrorist groups and their support networks," Kenyatta added.

In his statement, Kenyatta called on Kenyans and the international community to stand up and protect the rights of people in today's civilized world, adding that there is no justification for the murder of innocent people.

"Beyond the critical security interventions being made presently by the brave soldiers of France, I urge all Kenyans and indeed the entire global community to stand up and loudly rededicate ourselves to the common values all civilized people hold," he said.

At least 128 people were killed in the attacks, 250 were injured among whom 99 in critical conditions, during three explosions at Stade de France and six shootings, one of which becoming a hostage-taking, in Paris 10th and 11th district. Enditem
