Singapore's PM to attend G20, APEC summits

Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will attend the G20 summit as well as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting starting from Nov.15, announced the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Friday.

Held in the Turkish city of Antalya from Nov.15 to Nov.16, the G20 summit will discuss challenges facing the global economy, as well as ways to strengthen economic resilience and promote job creation for strong, sustainable and balanced growth. PM Lee and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will witness the signing of Turkey-Singapore Free Trade Agreement on the sidelines of the G20 Summit.

APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting will discuss issues related to inclusive growth through developing integrated economies, as well as building resilient and sustainable communities from Nov.18 to Nov.19 in Manila, the Philippines. PM Lee will also hold bilateral meetings with other APEC leaders during that time.

Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean will be the acting prime minister in PM Lee's absence. Enditem
