Singapore stocks close 0.76 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 22.58 points, or 0.76 percent, to close at 2,959.01.

A total of 1.05 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 944.7 million Singapore dollars (665.8 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 290 to 140, while 504 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 16.13 points, or 0.54 percent, to close at 2,981.59 on Wednesday. Enditem
