A total of 102 dengue-related deaths have been reported across Thailand this year, the Ministry of Public Health said on Wednesday.

From Jan. 1 to Nov. 2, the epidemiology bureau of the ministry's Department of Disease Control recorded more than 100,000 cases of dengue fever nationwide, the department's deputy director-general Opart Karnkawinpong was quoted by the National News Bureau of Thailand as saying.

The largest number of dengue fever patients was reported in Phetchaburi province, followed by provinces of Rayong, Uthai Thani and Pranchinburi, Opart said, adding that an increase in patients is expected in provinces of Nakhon Ratchasima and Chiang Mai, as well as Bangkok.

Meanwhile, Opart stressed that the four existing strains of the disease continue to be transmitted via mosquitoes, with no new strains found. Enditem
