Czech policemen leave for Schengen borders guarding mission in Slovenia

Xinhua, November 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

Twenty Czech policemen left for Slovenia on Monday to help guarding the Schengen borders and they will serve in the Dobova and Obrezje areas for five weeks, Czech Police Presidium spokesman David Schoen said.

Czech sent 50 police officers for a similar mission to Hungary two weeks ago.

Dispatching police officers to Slovenia was approved by Czech government last week. The mission cost will be around 3.5 million crowns (about 0.14 million U.S. dollars). Czech police officers will be under the command of the Slovenian to guard the border with Croatia. Schon said that the joint patrols of Czech and Slovenian will be effective, as this practice has been proven at the Czech mission in Hungary.

After Hungary closed its border with Serbia in mid-September, the migrants wave turned to Croatia. Two weeks ago, Hungary closed its green border with Croatia as well, and the migrants turned to Slovenia. (1 euro=25 Czech koruna) Endit
