The civil and military aviation orders at the Dubai Airshow have accumulated to nearly 30 billion U.S. dollars, the organizer F&E Aerospace said on Monday.

The United States aviation giant Boeing and Indian carrier Jet Airways signed a deal worth approximately eight billion dollars, which will see the Americans build 75 new 737 MAX aircraft for the Mumbai-based airliner.

Also at the Airshow, Dubai's Emirates Airline announced the signing of a 16 billion dollars OnPointSM solution agreement with the US' GE Aviation for the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of the GE9X engines, which will power the airline's fleet of 150 Boeing 777X aircraft over a period of 12 years. This is Emirates' largest single engine MRO contract to date.

Abu Dhabi's state-owned Etihad Airways signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Abu Dhabi-based investment firm Mubadala worth about one billion dollars.

Besides, the Air Force of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced it ordered two new Global 6000 long-range surveillance aircraft from Swedish manufacturer Saab.

The 14th edition of the Dubai Airshow 2015 started on Sunday and will run through Thursday, hosting 1,100 exhibitors from over 60 countries. Over 160 aircraft, helicopters and drones are on display. Endit
