Chinese Super League side Whowin extends contract with head coach

Xinhua, November 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese Super League side Liaoning Whowin signed a three-year contract extension with head coach Ma Lin on Monday.

"We hope that Ma Lin will help revitalize the Liaoning team," the Shenyang-based club said in a statement.

Ma was tasked with avoiding relegation from the top flight when he took over Whowin in August. He managed to fulfill the task when the 2015 season drew a close at the end of October.

"I appreciate the club for trusting me when the team were in a difficult time," said the 53-year-old.

Ma, formerly a member of the Chinese national team in the early 1990s, said the team would start winter training later this month.

"We need to work hard in winter training, as it will have a big impact on our performance next year," he said. Endi
