Snow to linger in NE China

Xinhua, November 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

Heavy snow that has swept across most parts of northern China will continue to fall in the northeast and gradually weakens next Wednesday, meteorological authorities said Sunday.

Regions including Inner Mongolia will see snow and sleet in the coming two days with heavy snowfall expected in parts of Heilongjiang and Jilin, according to the National Meteorological Center (NMC).

Lingering snowfall will bring down temperatures in the regions as mentioned above, the NMC said.

Meanwhile, medium to strong rainfall will hit Guangxi and other parts of southern China, which will be partially stricken by thunderstorms and downpours. The precipitation will abate on Monday but southern areas will see another rain belt starting Tuesday.

Chilled by cold snap and rainfall, southern provinces will see temperatures drop by 6 to 10 degrees Celsius, the NMC said. Endi
