Xinhua, November 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least four people were killed and 16 others injured in a suicide bomb attack in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Sunday, a police source said.

The attack occurred around noon when a suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest near a security patrol at a crowded marketplace in Qiyara neighborhood, which is part of the Shiite bastion of Sadr district in eastern Baghdad, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Iraq has been witnessing some of the worst violence in years. Terrorism and violence have killed at least 12,282 civilians were killed and 23,126 others injured in 2014, making it the deadliest year since the sectarian violence in the 2006-2007 period, according to a recent UN report. Endit
