Indian PM to visit Britain next week

Xinhua, November 6, 2015 Adjust font size:

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Britain next week, sources said Friday.

"Modi will arrive in London on November 12. During his three-day visit, he is slated to have a luncheon meeting with Queen Elizabeth II and British Prime Minister David Cameron," sources said.

The Indian prime minister will also attend a reception that is to be hosted by the speaker of the British Parliament and interact with Indian-origin British lawmakers.

Meanwhile, British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond has said that "there will be a package of deliverables announced while the Indian Prime Minister is in London next week."

"As the Indian economy has a very large and important private sector, many of the deals will be commercial and private sector deals rather than government to government deals," he said. Enditem
