Xinhua, November 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

Consumer prices in South Korea rose 0.9 percent in October from a year earlier, staying below 1 percent for 11 straight months, a government report showed Tuesday.

The consumer price inflation remained in the zero-percent range since December last year when it recorded 0.8 percent, according to Statistics Korea.

The October headline inflation, however, was the fastest since last November's 1 percent rise as farm goods prices advanced at a fast pace.

Onion prices soared 91 percent last month on a yearly basis, with beef prices climbing 12 percent.

Public service prices went up sharply, with city bus fares and subway charges gaining 9 percent and 15.2 percent respectively. Sewage fees advanced 14.4 percent last month on a yearly basis. Enditem
