Nigeria on Wednesday declared 100 suspected Boko Haram members are wanted for carrying out various violent attacks in the restive northeast region of the country.

On the list of wanted Boko Haram suspects was Abubakar Shekau, leader of the terror group, who the Nigerian army had earlier claimed was killed in a confrontation. Among those declared wanted are teenagers who were suspected to have collaborated in carrying out attacks for the violent group, Nigeria's army chief, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai said. BERLIN -- German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere said on Wednesday that his country would facilitate a swifter deportation of rejected asylum seekers from Afghanistan and the Balkans.

The number of repatriations and deportations, said de Maiziere, is expected to "rise significantly in the coming months" in a toughening of Germany's refugee policy. (Germany-Refugee Crisis)

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- An Indian military trooper was killed Wednesday in an ongoing gunfight with militants in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, officials said.

The gunfight broke out Wednesday evening when joint contingents of Indian army and police cordoned off forest area in district Bandipora, about 70 km north of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir. (Indian-controlled Kashmir-Gunfight)

RIYADH -- Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir said on Wednesday that his country will participate in Vienna talks on Friday on the Syrian crisis, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The talks aimed to test intentions of Russia and Iran, the main supporters of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government, for a peace agreement, the minister told a news conference he attended with his British counterpart Philip Hammond. (Saudi Arabia-Syrian Conflict)

TRIPOLI-- More than 1,000 illegal immigrants on overcrowded boats have been rescued near Libya on Wednesday morning, Italian Coast Guards said.
