Selby, Higgins lead final eight list of 2015 World Snooker International Championship

World No.1 Mark Selby and other big names like John Higgins advanced into the final eight of 2015 World Snooker International Championship here in Daqing, China.

Selby beat Michael White 6-3 to be the highest ranking player remained in the tournament. Jon Perry outscored Ben Woollaston 6-5.

"Wizard of Wishaw" John Higgins swept Shaun Murphy in a 6-0 victory. Higgins enjoyed five breaks of 56, 74, 62, 138 and 78 points with Murphy scoring zero in three frames. The latter even applauded for his opponent in the late sixth frame.

After winning the Australia Open in July, Higgins already had 27 ranking event titles which equaled Ronnie O'Sullivan. Now he has the chance in Daqing to share a 28-trophy glory with legend Steve Davis.

"He is my hero in snooker so if I could equal him in the number it could be a very proud day for me." said Higgins," It will be a great achievement to equal a hero."

When he was asked who will be the best player of all time, he hesitated for a while before answering the question. "I will be honest when I say this. Yuelong, Zhou Yuelong. I really think he could be the best ever."

The 17-year-old Chinese player thanked Higgins after his 5-6 loss to Thepchaiya Un-Nooh of Thailand. Another host player Tian Pengfei suffered a 1-6 loss to Mark Allen. Macro Fu of Hong Kong, China stayed after defeating Jimmy Robertson 6-3.
