Heineken reports rise in revenue, volumes

Xinhua, October 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Heineken had an increase in revenue and volume in the third quarter of 2015, the Dutch brewer stated Wednesday.

Consolidated revenue grew by 8.0 percent (organically by 7.5 percent) in Q3 of 2015, compared to the same period last year, to a total 5.509 billion euros (6.096 billion U.S. dollars).

This figure was influenced by a favorable currency impact of 41 million euros and came despite a negative consolidation impact of 17 million euros from the disposal of Mexican Empaque packaging operations, completed in February 2015. Revenue per hectoliter of beer went up by 1.8 percent compared to Q3 last year.

Consolidated beer volume grew by 5.4 percent organically in the third quarter of 2015, compared to the same period in 2014, with positive figures in Europe (6.8 percent), supported by favorable summer weather, the Americas (6.7 percent) and Asia Pacific (6.0 percent growth) and a slightly lower volume in Africa and the Middle East (minus 0.1 percent).

Heineken also reported a net profit of 1.776 billion euros in the first nine months of this year, compared with the 1.091 billion euros for the same period in 2014.

"Our strong performance in the third quarter is consistent with our earlier 2015 full year guidance that volume would be weighted to the second half of the year," said Jean-Francois van Boxmeer, CEO of Heineken, in a press release. Enditem
