An Israeli woman was moderately wounded and a Palestinian attacker was killed, as two attacks by Palestinians against Israelis took place in the West Bank territories in less than an hour on Wednesday afternoon.
The first attack took place in Hebron, as a Palestinian man tried to stab an Israeli soldier at a military post in the city, the Israeli military said in a statement on Wednesday.
Forces at the site shot and killed the perpetrator, a military spokeswoman confirmed to Xinhua. Clashes then erupted at the scene between Palestinian protesters and Israeli security forces, according to the army. No injuries were reported.
Less than an hour later, a Palestinian man stabbed an Israeli woman near a supermarket, at the Gush Etzion junction, south of Jerusalem. The woman suffered moderate injuries, the Israeli army said, and the perpetrator was detained at the site.
On Tuesday, Israeli soldiers shot and killed three Palestinians, two in the Gush Etzion junction and one in Hebron, who allegedly tried to attack Israelis. One soldier was wounded in moderate condition in one of the attacks.
These attacks come amid a month-long wave of violence between Israelis and Palestinians, with lone-wolf attacks against Israelis in the form of stabbing, shooting and vehicular attacks, and clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli security forces in the West Bank, east Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip territories.
