Flamengo to face Orlando City in Maracana friendly

Xinhua, October 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Flamengo will host Orlando City in a friendly next month to commemorate the Brazilian club's 120th year.

The fixture will be played at Rio's iconic Maracana stadium on November 15, Flamengo said in a statement on their official website on Tuesday.

"It gives us great satisfaction to announce that Flamengo and Orlando City will meet each other at the Maracana," Flamengo spokesman Jose Rodrigo Sabino said.

"It's a great time to give Flamengo exposure in the United States and build a relationship with a modern and professional club."

Orlando City, who made their Major League Soccer debut this year, are currently seventh in the 10-team MLS standings.

Their squad includes Brazil's 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year and 2002 World Cup winner, Kaka. Endi
