French stock market index down 0.54 pct on Monday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 finished the trading day with a decrease of 0.54 percent to close at 4,897.13 points on Monday, down 26.51 points.

Investors waiting for the monetary policies of the Federal Reserve and Japanese Central Bank, the CAC 40 of Paris closed slightly lower on Monday with 27 of the 40 selected stocks experiencing decrease.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Monday were Peugeot, down 3.64 percent, Valeo, down 3.12 percent, and ArcelorMittal, down 2.12 percent.

The top three gainers on Monday were Credit Agricole, up 1.13 percent, Alstom, up 0.75 percent, and Schneider Electric, up 0.67 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed an advance of 2.28 percent to close at 4,802.18 points, up 107.08 points. Endit
