A gas pipeline caught fire in central northern Bulgaria on Friday morning, causing no casualties, the country's Ministry of Energy said in a statement.

The fire occurred at 6:18 local time (0418 GMT) near the village of Patresh, some 225 km northeast of Sofia, the ministry said. All safety systems triggered, and the gas supply was cut.
