Albanian economic activity expands in first half of 2015

Economic activities in Albania expanded in the first half of 2015, driven by a boost in private investments and improved trade balance.
There was little volatility in the domestic currency exchange rate and interest rates, Albanian Daily News quoted the Albanian Financial Stability Report of the Bank of Albania as showing.
In the banking sector, expansion was driven by interbank investments and credit growth, mainly in favor of non-residents.
Overall, positive developments in the real economy and in the banking sector contributed to strengthening financial stability.
According to the Bank of Albania, financial performance of the banking sector is rated as stable. Indicators of capitalization and liquidity stand at good levels with the banking sector generating profit, therefore strengthening economic resilience over the first half of 2015. Endi
